wwwwwssssssssshhhhhhhhhh....

So I have every intention of getting on this blog and posting. I do get on the blogspot, but the posts just are not coming. I literally have nothing going on in my head that I can get organized and written out. (Do I stand alone, or do others experience this?)
So I am posting this for the sheer comfort of posting. I see all my friends and colleagues moving on throughout the summer and posting great things. I seem to have nothing. A TEACHER'S LIFE...(Jen) said maybe if I just write and get things down maybe it will help. Amick's Articles (Sarah) looks for me to find emotion in stories. I tell myself I just need to clear the cobwebs that have developed in the last 3 weeks since schools been out. But to no avail. Tonight there is only the sound of air between my ears. Hopefully tomorrow I will be filled with great thoughts, inspiring ideas, and emotions that won't stop. But for now I sign off with the soft whispers of wwwwwssssshhhhhhhhh.....

You will soon find it- Think of it as a pair of shoes. Sometimes you have to try on a couple of pair until you find the right pair. The pair will come along and you will be INSPIRED...

I think that one thing that helped me was when Penny Kittle challenged us on Ruth's site to write an "I remember..." piece. I made a list of some moments. It was very beneficial.
What are you writing in your Reader's Notebook? Any questioning strategies that you are using? Ask us! Or, just wait to be inspired like Jen said.

At breakfast the other morning, Carl told Janet that he was NOT allowing himself to have writer's block. He simply refused. He WOULD write. So, see even the pro's have this problem!

you are so not alone -- i totally relate to your post & am so glad you shared! i have a tough time posting in the summer too. i've found that by backing down my expectation to post daily, it's helped. i've also backed off on the edu-stuff and have focused on the inspiration stuff. this has been fun -- sharing the random inspiration in my life. plus i'm writing on my personal blog -- sometimes more than daily! (if i didn't have them separate, those are the stories i'd capture on inspiring . keep at it & the words will come.
